The Coffee Corner: Birthday Blog!

HIYA dear reader!!!

Happy Wednesday.

And unlike my moan last week, this week it actually is a happy Wednesday because…

I have no idea why, usually I’m a bit of a birthday grinch and not really too fussed about it, but this year I’m really feeling it. A WHOLE 33 YEARS OF AGE and feeling every ounce as old as I’m getting. This year especially I’ve really noticed that I’m growing up, but that I’m also quite OK with it. It’s a bit of a funny feeling really feeling like you’re maturing but also clinging on to your old self/ your 20s.

As you read this, I’ll be several wines in because I’m going out for tea and wine with James and I’ve been really clever this week and SCHEDULED the blog post to go live whilst I’m out living my best life! Technology is wonderful when you know how to use it.

And not only that, I got some fantastic news on Monday – I got the results for the growth I had removed from my eye a few weeks back – it was NOT cancerous (nor was it the fly that flew into my eye during parkrun that I feared had cocooned itself), it was just a little harmless capillary hemangioma (aka a not-dangerous, not-cancerous benign tumour) and they got it all out, and I’m discharged, just like that!

AND NOT ONLY THAT, but I have also found out this week that in just 3 WEEKS’ TIME I’m going away for work.

Where? You ask…

Where indeed.

ONLY BLOODY DALLAS, TEXAS, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dallas, Texas. The birthplace of the frozen margharita (as I excitedly learned this week) and the place where people apparently call you MAAM!!! The place where I’ll finally get to meet the wonderful people I’ve been working with remotely for nearly 4 years, and also the place where I’ll get to meet SO MANY wonderful clients whose podcasts I produce/have launched/have written for over the years. I am so excited and feeling very grateful as I enter into my 33rd trip around the sun. Plus it was 2020 that I last visited a new place, so I am well overdue!

And to celebrate all this goodness (god, what a difference to last week!!!), I’m switching things up a bit on this week’s Coffee Corner and bringing you basically just a collection of really happy videos that I’ve seen in the last week. There’s been so much goodness that I’ve seen and because birthdays should be happy, I’m making this one giant super happy post! I was going to attempt 33 videos, but that’s a bit excessive and I only have 7 that I’ve collected over the last week, so that’ll have to do.

Let’s kick things off!

THIS BEAUTIFUL, PRECIOUS, DANCING BABY PUP

THIS TRULY BEAUTIFUL MARRIAGE PROPOSAL

This is a bit of an oldie (and I think I’ve likely shared it before on my blog) but it cropped up again this week and I just love it so much. Possibly the best surprise proposal video I’ve ever seen (and I have seen A LOT!) My favourite thing is that the guy clearly knew his partner would volunteer to take part!!! Just so so beautiful from start to finish.

THIS naughty but gorgeous escape artist that just wants a Lil swim and splash

this experience of the most simple, fun, lovely happiness

this sneaky but sooooooo cute lil fox thief

CAN WE JUST TAKE A MINUTE TO APPRECIATE THOSE LITTLE NOISES HE MAKES!!

This precious dad dancing with his daughter(s) at a Taylor Swift gig

This beautiful family reunion

What is just so precious about this video is it is clear how much that boy is loved by his parents. The absolute pure, unadulterated JOY that comes when they see him again is just so wonderful to see. THIS ladies, gentlemen, and non-binary friends is what makes the world go around!!!

Before You Go…

Just a little side note with my upcoming trip to Dallas, as a lot of people ask me what it is exactly that I actually do for work, because apparently it’s quite elusive LOL.

I started off copywriting on the side whilst still in my job at a university in March 2020, but with the wake of AI tools being so fantastic and basically starting to replace writers nowadays, I was fortunate enough to pivot a little while ago and make myself invaluable by expanding my repertoire of skills and activities that I was willing to learn. That’s basically just a posh way of saying I accepted every offer of any other jobs that came my way in the podcasting industry aside from writing, and now I technically launch podcasts (ie from idea conception right through to getting it out into the world), produce ongoing weekly podcasts (ie create/pull all the components together and get them published and out into the world), and I still write the show notes for a few as well.

The podcasts I work on are all in the self-help/personal development/life coaching industry and working in this industry since 2020 has done WONDERS for me/my mental health/my general mindset. I love the industry and think everybody could benefit from coaching and self-help, but I appreciate not everybody is interested in it. If you are though, hit me up because I can send you SO many resources to check out!!

Anyway, that’s enough excitement from me this week, I’ll cheers to you tonight with my bday wines and I’ll see you next week!
